DMS534 1 Week Project – Meeting Space “REVERSE”

Are you already tired of the gravity? How about standing upside down while meeting?

My meeting space project REVERSE has just one simple concept: to reverse the gravity, allowing a meeting standing upside down. In order to achieve that, I’ve set all the chairs on the roof, and put some dummy cubes on the ground. The roof and chairs on it are hided by 5m high decorative fence, so that it is not easy to find out what it is all about when you are distance away. Generally, the simple cubes on the floor are just an appearance, which makes people think that the cubes are the chairs to sit on, and the meeting is hold there as usual. If they do not pay much attention to the whole space, they will definitely think so. When they try to sit on those cubes, they will suddenly find out that they are actually sitting on somewhere else – the chairs on the roof upside down. If you toggle to first person view, you will see the surrounding outside the meeting space is quite interesting: the sky is under your feet, the land and sea are over your head. When you are looking at the person sitting around you, things get normal, except that some parts of their avatars are pointing “up”.

Another function of the space is the reversal of the floor and roof. The big difference is the position of the fence. It is always attached to the roof, so if it rotates to the ground, people sitting on the roof will get a better view outside. Just enjoy the reversed world!

The limitation of the space is that you can only sitting on the chairs on the roof, there is no way you can stand and walk upside down on the roof. If there is a way to do that, my concept will be perfect.
